Join Us for a Trip To The Galapagos Islands
Our tours begin in Quito, Ecuador. After spending a full day the High Andes city of Quito, you will fly to Baltra Island in the Galapagos Islands. Your yacht for the next 11 or 15 days in the Galapagos is waiting in the nearby harbor!
Those days on the islands are tailored to provide a rich and slow-paced experience. We include 3 days in the volcanically-active western islands, where we whale-watch, observe penguins, flightless cormorants, and giant tortoises in the wild. In addition to the legally-required Naturalist Guide, we also provide a Tour Leader / Biologist giving us twice the leadership and expertise for our small group of explorers. Our twice-daily island visits are longer (2-4 hours each) than other tours. We also go on shore earlier in the day (typically landing between 6 and 7am. vs. 8am for most other vessels) to enhance viewing and photographic opportunities. Similarly our afternoon landings linger on shore later for both the best wildlife activity and photographic light.
The Verdant Season in the Galapagos
The Verdant Season (or Green Season) lasts roughly through the first half of the year from January through mid-May. This time of year is favored by many professional photographers, with slightly more rain, dramatic skies and favorable light. Temperatures are warm and bouts of wet weather are typically brief and refreshing. The season is marked by the warmest and clearest seas of the year - perfect for snorkeling, which we have opportunities to do most days. For anyone concerned with seasickness this is also the season with the calmest water.
During any season in the Galapagos, the wildlife is always wonderful. With few migratory species, the wildlife tends to remain on or around the islands year round. A few highlights of the season however might include territorial duels between marine iguana, flightless cormorants nesting, endemic finches, mockingbirds, doves and hawks all at their most active, giant tortoises at lower elevations in the islands, and so much more! The native and endemic flora thrives this time of year!

What Makes Our Trips Special
Since we only offer 11 or 15 day trips, we focus on providing a longer, slower paced, enriched experience on and around the Galapagos Islands. You’ll have more time to explore, observe wildlife, take photos, and absorb the surrounding sights and smells.
Our trips are educationally-oriented and are accompanied by a Tour Leader / Biologist in addition to a local Naturalist Guide. The tours are oriented to the participant who wants to observe and learn as much as possible about the Galapagos - the animals and plants - on land and in the water.
We offer 2 different Galápagos itineraries. Both of our programs have a very strong Natural History focus, and spend either 11 days or 15 days aboard the yacht, allowing you to visit the significant outer islands, and allowing for a maximum of wildlife observation.
